Lori received her B.S. degree in medical technology from the University of Central Florida and her J.D. degree from the University Of New Mexico School Of Law, where she received the Dean’s Award and the Wall Street Journal Academic Achievement Award. Lori was one of the first attorneys in the state to earn her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Elder Law through Stetson University College of Law. Lori is licensed to practice in New Mexico and is a member of the Elder Law Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar. Lori is also accredited with the Veteran’s Administration. Lori is certified in general, guardianship and conservatorship mediation.

Professional Affiliations
Lori is an active member of several national and local professional organizations.

  • New Mexico Guardianship AssociationLori is a member of the New Mexico Guardianship Association. She was a founding member of the organization and served on the Board of Directors for eight years, including two terms as Vice-President. She chaired the committee that produced the training video for family guardians and conservators and edited an update of the conservatorship section of the Handbook for Guardians and Conservators. She also organized and executed the pilot project for monitoring of guardianship and conservatorship cases, which was the foundation for the current Special Master Program in the Second Judicial District.
  • National Academy of Elder Law AttorneysLori is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, or NAELA. She was a founding member of the New Mexico Chapter of NAELA and served as President and Secretary.

    Lori continues to serve on the committee that developed the Medical Order for Scope of Treatment, or MOST, a document which endeavors to ensure that the end of life wishes of terminally ill patients are honored.
  • Elder CouncilLori is a member of Elder Counsel, a peer group of Elder Law attorneys dedicated to excellence in elder law and special needs through education, collegiality and practice development.
  • New Mexico Association for Continuity of CareLori is also a member of the New Mexico Association for Continuity of Care. This Association is dedicated to promoting the concept that continuity of care is an essential component of the health care delivery system.
  • Lori continues her membership in the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, or ASCP, although she no longer works as a medical technologist.
  • Alzheimer's Association, NM ChapterLori is a strong supporter of the Alzheimer's Assocation, NM Chapter and encourages others to learn more about this important organization and support their work.
